I'm Gabriela Román, an Art Curator and Creative Strategist with over eight years of experience and a passion for bridging the worlds of Art and Entrepreneurship.

My Story.

My journey began in Havana, where a deep love for art and culture led me to pursue a degree in Art History. By 2017, I was expanding my curatorial practice at institutions such as Galleria Continua, Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto, and Chullima Art Centre while being an Associate Lecturer in Aesthetics and Theory of Culture at the University of Havana.

Expertise.

Along the way, I discovered a drive to blend my curatorial expertise with entrepreneurial knowledge and skills to better shape the impact I wanted to create within the Arts & Creative Ecosystem. In 2019, I pursued an MA in Creative Entrepreneurship with a Leadership Pathway at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Since then, alongside my curatorial work, I have worked as a Business Consultant to entrepreneurs and organisations, helping them achieve their goals.

I’ve also launched two ventures that reflect my commitment to fostering creativity, connection, and positive impact:

Not The Owners, a platform breaking new ground for Latin American art and artists from the global majority, and Mentoras Creativas, which focuses on closing the gender gap in the Arts and Creative Industries through professional growth programs.

These ventures are rooted in my belief that art and creativity are powerful forces for driving positive change.

Philosophy.

At the core of my work is the belief that art and creativity have the power to transform lives and communities. I approach every project with a focus on innovation, cultural impact, and meaningful engagement. Whether I’m curating and exhibition or helping a creative build their career or business, my goal is always to empower and uplift creative voices.

Let’s Connect.

I’m always excited to connect with fellow creatives, curators, and organizations. If you’re looking to colaborate on a project or explore how we can work together, let’s start the conversations.
